Brunch is one of San Diego’s most beloved pastimes that has managed to continue on through the pandemic. As restaurants cope with the seesaw of COVID-19 shutdowns — some have reopened for outdoor dining while others have remained closed for any dine-in service — most are thankfully still offering takeout. And since brunch seems to be a meal that still draws crowds, a better bet might be to bring brunch vibes home with baked goods, savory dishes, and bottled cocktails prepared by a local eatery.

CH Project’s East Village hangout recently launched a new brunch and cocktail menu that’s available for curbside pickup daily between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Dubbed the Tex Mex Breakfast Club, it features breakfast tacos and fajitas that can also be made vegan as well as tres leches French toast and an avocado tostada. To-go drinks, from Noble Experiment’s Andrew Cordero, include micheladas, margaritas, and palomas plus the Sunrise Fluff made with campari, orange juice and mezcal.
