Loews Coronado Bay Resort
Make your Valentine’s Day a multi-sensory one with Loews’ new wine dinner series, “Entwined.” In partnership with Terra Valentine Winery, the evening will feature a reception followed by a five-course wine dinner on February 14 with local pairings by Cowgirl Creamery, Chino Farms, Santa Monica Seafood and Rancho San Julian. Tickets are $150 per person or $275 per couple all-inclusive.
Bice
Enjoy a three-course menu of authentic Italian eats designed by executive chef and partner Mario Cassineri. Signature entrees and dessert dishes include fresh Mediterranean sea bass cooked on a cedar wood plank, and a polenta peach and blueberry tarte with spicy habanero and apricot sauce. Starting Friday, February 12 the dinner will available over the weekend and costs $65 per person.
The Westgate Hotel
A special Valentine’s Sunday Brunch is available Sunday, February 14 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. In addition to the Westgate’s award-winning brunch items, couples will enjoy lovely holiday-inspired desserts. Starting at $59 per person savor the freshest seafood, gourmet carving and crepe stations, baked breads, pastries and desserts, plus breakfast tipples like champagne, mimosas, and Bloody Mary’s.
Coasterra Restaurant
Soak up views of the San Diego skyline while enjoying chef Deborah Scott's three-course modern Mexican menu. Priced at $64.95 per person, the Mar Y Tierra; a Cedar River Farms natural beef short rib braised in Oaxacan mole, severed with a lobster-risotto cake, grilled asparagus and topped with a succulent lobster claw is a menu standout.
vinavanti Urban Winery
Dive into a fun, yet educational experience with Vinavanti’s ‘Introduction to Pairing’ class. The latest installment of their Cellar School series (12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.) will compare and contrast flavor profiles, talk about tannins and dive deeper into the world of body and aroma. In addition, a special prix-fixe pairing menu featuring six wine and food samples ($50 per couple) will be available throughout weekend.
The Red Door
Known for its romantic, cozy vibe, The Red Door will be offering a three-course prix fixe menu throughout the weekend. Enjoy executive chef Miguel Valdez’s take on aphrodisiac boosting dishes using locally sourced, in-season produce. The dinner costs $70 per person, but diners also have the option to order a la carte from the regular menu.
The Glass Door
Enjoy a three-course Valentine’s Day menu for $38 per person and a complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival at the Porto Vista Hotel’s stylish rooftop perch. Standout selections include the local oyster tasting to start, grilled Wagyu beef rib eye entrée, and chocolate empanada for dessert. Make it a night with the Wine & Dine package, which includes a room plus breakfast for two.
The Nolen
Four new sweetheart inspired tipples will grace The Nolen’s special cocktail menu starting February 12. Costing $11 each, look out for A Fine Romance (Prosecco, grenadine, lemon, rose water); My Sweetie Pie (vodka, creme de framboise, lemon, rhubarb syrup, salt); Love is a Four Letter Word (bourbon, cherry liqueur, orgeat, aztec chocolate bitters); and --last but not least -- Netflix and Chilis (St. George Green Vodka, tequila, Ancho Reyes Chili Liqueur, agave, lemon).
Panama 66
Start with a semi-private, after-hours tour of SDMART before picking up your pre-selected picnic basket at Panama 66 – each one comes with a choice of a FULL bottle of bubbly, wine or beer growler – plus blankets and truffles! While the picnic package & tour is reservation-only, Panama 66 will also be open serving their standard menu, including cheese plates, cocktails plus other delicious food offerings.
Pacifica Del Mar
Impress someone special at this popular ocean view restaurant where, in addition to the a la carte menu, as part of their Valentine’s Day dinner Pacifica will offer regular menu entrees that come with a choice of soup and salad. Those keeping it low-key, or looking for an evening drink can enjoy all night happy hour on Sunday at Pacifica’s Ocean Bar.
Cusp Dining & Drinks
Executive Chef Donald Lockhart has prepared a three-course Valentine's Day dinner which kicks off with a trio of amuse bouche for the table. Enjoy exquisite ocean views as the meal continues with starters like flat iron steak tartar, and signature entrees like rack of lamb and saffron poached local sea bass. Expect seasonal desserts like s'mores chocolate ice cream cake to finish. Costs $75 per person.
The Brew Project
Starting at 6 p.m., this laidback beer bar will be offering a special four-course Valentine’s Day evening menu for $60 per person, or $70 with craft beer pairings. The meal will kick off with a specialty sparkling passion fruit cocktail. From there, highlights include amberjack crudo, smoked tomato and fennel bisque, plus steak frites and a pan seared salmon.
