Miracle, the annual holiday-themed cocktail pop-up bar, returns to the San Diego area this year with several locations that will featuring seasonal, kitschy decor and festive cocktails in signature glassware. The Apparition Room’s “Miracle on Front Street” runs November 21 to December 21 with drinks like the Christmapolitan and Rudolph’s Replacement.

The resort’s Lakeside Lawn is transforming into Winter Wonderland for the holidays, with private igloos set under twinkling lights and views of the lakefront. Running weekends only from December 1 to December 24, the experience includes two hours of festivities plus two bottles of wine, a charcuterie board, and a variety of desserts.

The eye-popping Lightscape at San Diego Botanic Garden will be on display in North County through January 1, centered around a one-mile walking trail lined with art installations that include an illuminated laser sky, colorful fiber optic flowers, and a custom floral display inspired by the topography of the San Diego Botanic Garden. Along the route, concession stands will offer festive treats and seasonal beverages, from peppermint brownies and cinnamon and sugar doughnuts to warming drinks like mulled apple cider spiked with Jack Daniels and a Bailey’s Hot Toddy enriched with Baileys Irish Cream and Frangelico.

Christmas is coming to Pacific Beach where the Duck Dive is hosting a Great Dickens Holiday Pop-Up from December 1 to December 31. Decked out in classic holiday decor, the bar will be mixing up drinks like the Bah-Rum-Bug made with rum, Aperol, pineapple, maple, lime, and cinnamon, and Fizziwig’s Ball, which features duck fat-washed bourbon, lemon, chai syrup, cardamom, and egg white with a cookie garnish.

Sippin’ Santa returns to the Pacific Beach tiki bar starting November 21 through December 31. Expect the tropical space to thoroughly deck itself out for the holidays, providing a festive setting for holiday favorites like the Jingle Bird and original Sippin’ Santa as well as new tipples like the Surf Nut.

This year, the Adams Avenue bar is doing a homegrown holiday pop-up dubbed “A Cocktail Carol”. Debuting November 20, it’ll feature cocktails inspired by classic Christmas carols of the past including Agave Hot Chocolate, Holiday Coquito, House Mulled Wine, and a S’mores-inspired Eggnog, served in customized glassware with tricked-out garnishes. As always, the bar itself will be a feast for the eyes with amped-up holiday decor.

Launching right after Thanksgiving, the bar will be going with a Krampus theme for its pop-up, with plenty of decorations and a seasonal cocktail list that includes hot buttered rum, a hot chocolate Old Fashioned, and the Krampus Cooler made with aquavit, Underberg, and passionfruit. For holiday gifting, its own Swans Spirits Company will be selling bottles of their “CocoRumpy”, a chocolate-peppermint schnapps, as well as 375 ml bottles of espresso martinis.

Cesarina Ristorante will unveil its annual top-to-bottom holiday makeover on December 8. Inspired by a ski chalet in the Italian Alps, the restaurant’s two patios will be outfitted with faux furs, fleece blankets, and custom chiminea fireplaces while the dining room will be blanketed in lights, garlands, and oversized ornaments through January 6.

After strolling through December Nights at Balboa Park, head over to this nearby neighborhood spot that transforms into a Christmas wonderland for the month of December. Strewn with lights and festive decorations, the restaurant is also offering a seasonal menu that includes drinks like the Peppermint Czar, made with peppermint vodka, Kahlua, eggnog, and nutmeg, and food specials like the Bobby, a hoagie dressed with oven roasted turkey breast, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and aioli.

The downtown hotel will be fully decked out in December, offering multiple ways to celebrate the holidays. Running from December 8 to December 31 in the Grant Grill Lounge is a special Holiday Under the Chandeliers menu, offered from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., that features themed bites and cocktails like Grinch Who-Hash! short rib sliders and the Snowman, a decadent mix of mezcal, creme de cacao, Baileys, and half and half. On December 15, 16, 22, and 23, the US Grant will be hosting live entertainment in the lobby, from toy soldier stilt walkers to a visit from Santa, with complimentary small bites and cocktails available for purchase from a festive bar cart from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The downtown nightclub is getting a North Pole makeover for its annual Santa’s Lair pop-up that runs November 22 through December 29. Attendees must purchase tickets to reserve a time slot, with the premium option including a welcome cocktail and a keepsake glass. Decorated wall-to-wall, the bar will offer photo-ops with Santa and a special food and drink menu that includes The Green Grinch made with Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey, Licor 43 Horchata, Faretti Biscotti liqueur, Montenegro, heavy cream, and chocolate bitters and the Santa’s Smorespresso Martini.

Christmas goes tropical at Zama starting on November 25 when the restaurant will be serving a special seasonal menu that culminates in a Christmas dinner on December 25. Taste a Candycane Lane sushi roll as well as holiday drinks like the Spiced Noel with nutmeg, tamarindo mezcal, coconut-washed Campari, sweet vermouth, and Aztec chocolate mole and the Holiday Harmony made with cranberry, barrel-aged gin, pomegranate, lemon, St. Germain foam, and hibiscus. And take a photo under the hidden mistletoe for a chance to win a Zama gift card.

The Top of The Hyatt’s well-known seasonal activations continue with the Over The Top Holiday Lounge launching on November 24. The 40th-floor bar with panoramic views of the San Diego Bay and skyline will morph into a wintery wonderland with a themed menu that includes Cozy Cabin Cocoa served in a holiday mug that can be spiked with your choice of spirit as well as a Gingerbread Old Fashioned and White Chocolate Eggnog. Pastry chefs are also whipping up a cookie trio for dessert that features a snowflake-shaped vanilla shortbread with vanilla and caramel ganache.

The iconic hotel is hosting a slew of activities this season, including holiday movies by the beach, gingerbread house decorating, and beachside igloo rentals that include unlimited s’mores. Running November 17 through January 7 is Frostbite, a chilled-out lounge set along the famous Windsor Lawn ice rink whose comfy seats and cozy fire pits can be reserved with the purchase of food and drink from a menu of holiday drinks and bites that includes Rudolph’s Reindeer Chow, a sweet mix of kettle corn, snack mix, candies, and chocolate and Snow on the Beach, a cocktail made with Captain Morgan, Amaretto, egg nog, and cinnamon.

Running through January 1 at this Eastlake brunch spot is a Christmas pop-up, Barbiecore-style. The “Pink Christmas” decor will feature 8-foot-tall nutcrackers, rose-colored garlands, string lights, thousands of dangling ornaments for that perfect photo op as well as a holiday menu that includes pink glitter Champagne.

The Chula Vista speakeasy transforms into a tiki-Christmas wonderland with tons of tinsel for the Sippin’ Santa pop-up running November 22 through January 1. Look for drinks like Holiday on Ice and the Ginger Snapper as well as light bites.
