Local Taco Shop Joins Seaport Village Lineup

Crack Taco Shop is coming to the waterfront

Another local restaurant has been added to the mostly San Diego-focused hospitality roster at Seaport Village. With familiar names such as Mike Hess Brewing, Mr. Moto Pizza, and Sam the Cooking Guy already up and running, and projects like a tasting room and fast-casual seafood spot from Old Harbor Distilling Co. on the way, the revitalized waterfront center’s Board of Port Commissioners has just approved a lease for Crack Taco Shop to join the mix.

Slotting into a 560-square-foot retail space that is being converted into a fast-casual restaurant, Crack Taco Shop will offer outdoor seating along the promenade in Seaport Village’s Lighthouse District near Spill the Beans. The concept is an extension of Cardiff’s Seaside Market, best known for “Cardiff Crack”, its popular burgundy pepper tri-tip.

A first location of Crack Taco Shop opened in Mission Valley in 2019, serving a menu of tacos and burritos filled with the famous marinated beef along with other meats, seafood, and vegetables. Scheduled for a Summer 2022 opening, this outpost will also offer breakfast, sandwiches, nachos, and more as well as specialty Micheladas, beer, wine, and sangria.

Retail Insite’s Allison Campbell represented both the tenant and landlord in the lease.

With approximately seven vacant spaces to fill, the ongoing transformation of Seaport Village is nearly complete.
