Joining the thriving arts community in Barrio Logan is a new shop that scoops Mexican-style ice cream and sorbet in a space that also showcases works by local artists. Logan Avenue’s Neveria Los Mochis offers fruit-based, vegan sorbet in flavors like guava, Mexican lime, jamaica (hibiscus), and tamarind along with dairy-based ice creams including creamy avocado, Mexican chocolate, rum raisin, and marzipan.

There are also signature combos, including the “Los Mochis style” lime sorbet topped with fresh mango, strawberries, and a chamoy sauce or “La Favorita” which features Mexican chocolate ice cream with churros, goat milk caramel, and almonds.

Other treats include churros sold by the bag, traditional aguas frescas, and ice cream sandwiches made with fresh cookies from Nueve Perros bakery.

Open from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, the shop shares space with the Logan Avenue Galeria de Arte which is currently exhibiting the work of several neighborhood and local artists along the hallway leading back to the gallery room, which will host future art shows and can be rented out for private events.
