Cross Street Chicken and Beer, which arrived on Convoy Street bearing Korean fried chicken in 2017, is coming to Del Mar Highlands Town Center; the restaurant, which also runs an outpost at the Windmill Food Hall in Carlsbad, will be replacing California Native in the complex near Cinepolis.

The Kearny Mesa restaurant serves fried chicken wings and tenders in a variety of seasoning and sauces, from soy garlic and Seoul spicy to Nashville-style hot and lemon pepper, as well as fried chicken sandwiches, kimchi fried rice, and side like corn cheese and pork and vegetable dumplings.

Co-owner Tommy Nguyen shared that the larger North County restaurant, currently scheduled to open in early 2022, will feature all of its most popular menu items and more; they’ll be adding some new Korean comfort food dishes as well as Asian-inspired cocktails.

“We are so excited to take Cross Street to the next level and continue to challenge ourselves to grow and be better every year”, said Nguyen, who told Eater that their dream is to expand the restaurant nationwide.
