As ghost kitchens continue to help boost businesses as they weather these trying times, chef Michael Mina is launching his third virtual eatery from the kitchen of International Smoke, his One Paseo restaurant partnership with cookbook author and TV host Ayesha Curry.
Based on popular dishes from the MINA Group’s Glendale steakhouse, Bourbon Steak, Bourbon Burger Bar joins Tokyo Hot Chicken, which debuted in San Diego last fall, and Mac ‘N Cue, which offers a curated selection of comfort food favorites from the International Smoke menu. All three menus are available for takeout and delivery via a central website or third-party delivery sites like Uber Eats, Postmates, and Doordash.
Calling it “a city of burger fanatics”, the chef chose San Diego for Bourbon Burger Bar’s next expansion after recently debuting the concept in San Francisco and Los Angeles. His steakhouse-level burger options range from a black truffle steak burger on a sweet potato brioche bun to a barbecue salmon burger and a vegetarian version made with maitake mushrooms. There are also salads, and duck fat fries that can be paired with caviar-topped creme fraiche.
