Born during the pandemic, Cali Dumpling Delivery was created by Allan and Candace Tea (Capital Seafood, Hello Kitty Cafe) to generate funds for its furloughed staff and other nonprofits in the Los Angeles and Orange County area. After donating more than $20,000 of its profits to help its hospitality workers, the business has expanded its delivery range throughout California, from the Bay Area to San Diego, as well as Las Vegas.
Partnering with the owners of Mama Lu’s Dumpling House restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley, who have their own dumpling-making facility, the service is now delivering Chinese handmade dumplings directly to doorsteps in these local neighborhoods:
Deliveries are made to these areas on Mondays:
Allied Gardens, Carmel Valley, Clairemont, Del Mar, La Jolla, La Mesa, Mira Mesa, Miramar, Pacific Beach, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Penasquitos, Rancho Santa Fe, Scripps Ranch, Serra Mesa, Solana Beach, Sorrento Valley, Tierrasanta, University City
And these neighborhoods on Wednesdays:
Bonita, Chula Vista, City Heights, College, Downtown San Diego, Imperial Beach, Encanto, Lemon Grove, Mission Hills, Mission Valley, National City, North Park, Ocean Beach, Paradise Hills, Point Loma, Spring Valley, South Park
Available in bags of 30, the dumplings are flash-frozen and come with instructions on how to boil, steam, or pan-fry the dumplings. The menu includes pork and chive dumplings, vegetarian dumplings, Hong Kong-style wontons, chicken potsticker, and pork xiao long bao.
