Reopened in June after closing temporarily for the first time in 132 years, Coronado’s landmark Hotel del Coronado has been rolling out upgrades to the dining options at the property, which kicked off with last year’s opening of signature restaurant Serea Coastal Cuisine.

Tailored for the times, and the scorching climate, the Sun Deck functions as the pool’s rooftop bar and restaurant and the hotel’s largest all-outdoor eatery, which has a new cocktail bar, fire pits, and has been redesigned to maximize its panoramic ocean views. Per COVID-restrictions, guests are required to purchase an entree with their drinks, from a new menu that includes grilled local fish sandwiches, charred flat iron steak, noodle bowls, and fire-roasted cauliflower.

Also newly renovated is Babcock & Story, the original bar and lounge named for the hotel’s co-founders. Its 50-foot mahogany bar has been refurbished, with the bar bites menu featuring coconut ceviche, sliders, and charred tuna flatbread.

And the Eno Pizzeria & Wine Bar has been transformed into Eno Market & Pizzeria, with the indoor marketplace offering grab-and-go meals, coffee and pastries, and made-to-order sandwiches and the patio gazebo functioning as an outdoor eatery, serving pizza and Italian-style desserts and cocktails.
