Two Dessert Shops Heading for Del Mar Highlands

Cookies and shaved show are coming

The ongoing expansion of Del Mar Highlands Town Center, where The Sky Deck multi-restaurant collective is scheduled to open later this year, continues with another wave of new shops that includes two spots for sweet treats.

Launching its flagship location is Batch & Box Signature Cookies, a bakery designed for grab-and-go service and featuring a menu of fresh-baked cookies in rotating flavors ranging from classic chocolate chip and snickerdoodle to white chocolate raspberry. Batch & Box also plans to offer dairy-free, vegan cookies as well as gluten-free versions. Scheduled to debut this fall, the shop will be close to Jimbo’s Market and the complex’s open-air fountain area.

On the way, but not until Winter 2021, is another outpost for Iceskimo. The Taiwanese shaved show shop that first opened on Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa in 2014 and recently expanded with a larger location in the Eastlake community of Chula Vista. Focusing on handmade frozen treats which come in 30 flavors including Thai tea, taro, mango, and matcha, with combos that include the Bruce Lychee with lychee snow, fig jelly, and mango poppers. Iceskimo also serves milk teas, bubble waffles, and a new drink called snow affogato that combines hot espresso or matcha with shaved show and toppings.
