With six taqueria locations throughout San Diego, City Tacos is expanding to Mission Beach starting this weekend with a pop-up installation at Belmont Park. Perched atop the rooftop Coaster Terrace, the temporary beer garden and eatery will have room for 75 seats spaced according to COVID-19 regulations.

The Mexican restaurant will be featuring a selection of its popular tacos, from carne asada to chile relleno and grilled portobello. Since Belmont Park holds a full liquor license, it can also offer Latin-inspired cocktails including palomas, micheladas, and margaritas.

Terrace Cantina will debut this weekend, operating from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, but will be open on Fridays as well starting next week.

The pop-up is currently scheduled to run throughout the month of August but City Tacos owner Gerry Torres is excited about the possibility of a long-term partnership with Belmont Park going forward.
