Well-established Kearny Mesa ramen shop RakiRaki Ramen is heading to Mira Mesa, where it is replacing Happy Sushi in the Mesa Shopping Center, also home to The Boiling Crab and Seafood City Supermarket.
Owner/chef Junya Watanabe tells Eater that it will offer the same menu as its popular Convoy Street location, which features a wide variety of ramen styles ranging from its signature chicken ramen to tonkotsu, shoyu, curry, and vegetarian miso ramen as well as tsukemen, or dipping ramen, plus appetizers, salads, and rice bowls.
This will be the second RakiRaki in San Diego, as the former Little Italy outpost of the ramen-ya revamped into The Yasai, Watanabe’s vegan sushi bar, in March. Watanabe says that RakiRaki should be ready to open in Mira Mesa by August.
