When San Diego was forced to end dine-in service, Sundara Indian Kitchen was well positioned to make the switch; takeout and delivery already counted for half of the Ocean Beach eatery’s business. Open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily, offering a menu that mixes traditional Indian curries with dishes like masala chicharrones, a tikka masala burrito, and a tikka masala pizza baked on a naan bread that demonstrate a SoCal spin, Sundara has also instituted a relief meal special that is available to anyone currently unemployed. The combo dinner, which serves two people, is $11 — fifty percent off the regular price — and includes two samosas, one plain naan, a curry of your choice, and rice. To redeem the deal, email a scan or photo of your unemployment documentation (obscuring any private information) to discount@sundaracuisine.com to be sent a coupon code. Sundara’s Zachariah Bradley says the special will continue for the foreseeable future.

The eatery, which got its start as a pop-up back in 2012, will soon be sharing its Sunset Cliffs space with a breakfast pop-up called Loco Lopez that will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Developed by chef Adam Lowe, it will feature a Mexican American twist on brunch.
