OleriCultura, an all-vegan food stall, recently arrived at La Mesa’s Grossmont Center inside the mall’s food court. The kitchen is run by Sergio Garcia (Dos Tierras) with baked goods and beverages by Vanessa Corrales (Split Bakehouse and Get Fluffed Up). Serving up “Mexican rooted California cuisine”, the menu offers vegan heirloom grain bowls with bases that include wild rice with amaranth rojo and brown rice with quinoa, parsley, and cilantro. On top, choose from toppings like native beans stewed with plantains and kale or mushrooms and peppers simmered in a gluten-free gravy. Textural garnishes range from crunchy cabbage slaw and fried onions to sunflower and cashew crema and habanero beet salsa.

A selection of pan dulce, such as vegan conchas and puerquito de piloncillo, are available along with beverages like limonade de coco and aqua de platano (banana water). Starting February 4th, its operating hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
