A fixture on Eater San Fransciso’s essential ramen list will join the growing lineup of eateries at The Sky Deck, Del Mar Highland Town Center’s incoming multi-level food collective which is currently scheduled to open this June. Founded in the heart of San Francisco’s Japantown in 2017, Marufuku Ramen also operates locations in Oakland, California and Frisco, Texas. It’s famed for Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen, which originated in the Fukuoka prefecture of Japan; based on a rich and milky pork broth (Marufuku’s takes 20 hours to prepare), it features thin noodles and slices of simmered pork. The eatery allows diners to customize their ramen by choosing the firmness of the noodles, the level of seasoning spice, and the addition of extra noodles. The menu also includes a chicken ramen, vegetable ramen, small plates like takoyaki and fried shisito peppers, and rice bowls.
Mike Spilky of Location Matters represented the landlord and tenant and said, “We’re very excited to bring Marufuku Ramen to Del Mar Highlands’ Sky Deck. They are an incredible addition to an already renowned line up of food offerings for this project. We only have two spaces left.”
