Tijuana’s New Modern Seafood Spot Celebrates the Baja Coast

San Marée is from the co-chef of Los Compas

San Marée

A new project coming to Tijuana’s Colonia Neidhardt neighborhood will be paying homage to coastal Baja California through its menu and architecture. Opening this spring, San Marée will offer diners contemporary, Baja-style seafood dishes using high-quality products sourced from Baja California’s waters on the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez.

The menu at San Marée was designed by renowned chef and Tijuana native Mario Peralta, the co-founder of acclaimed Tijuana restaurant Los Compas and an alum of the Mission 19 kitchen. Entrees will range from updated seafood classics like sauteed clams and tostadas to Baja-Mediterranean dishes like bluefin tiradito and grilled fish in achiote sauce. Kumamoto and kumiai oysters will also be featured.

The experience is rounded out through the restaurant’s use of space and visuals with an interior design created by architect Rudy Argote and 13 custom murals by famed local artist Alfonso “El Norteño” Delgadillo. San Marée will also feature a terrace with views of the city and a bar area serving cocktails and sparkling wines.

San Marée is located at 3104 Avenida Jalapa and will celebrate its soft opening on Tuesday, March 3.
