Mobile Birria Specialists Find Permanent Spot in Chula Vista

The Birria Truck expands to the South Bay

The Birria Truck

After a successful 2019 rollout in the City Heights area, The Birria Truck is doubling its presence on local streets. While the original mobile eatery has moved all around the City Heights neighborhood, a new Chula Vista outpost will be permanently stationed at 271 Quintard Avenue.

Open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m to 5 p.m., the Birria Truck’s South Bay spot will continue to offer the roaming eatery’s well-received take on Tijuana-style birria, characterized by its crimson beef consomme and crispy red-tinged tortillas, as prepared by head chef Danny Bernal. The menu include tacos, mulitas, quesabirrias, and birria in full or half-bowl servings as well as other signature items like birria fries, special frijoles, and birria ramen cups.

Though the food is currently available for takeout, keeping in line with the county health order, the Chula Vista truck location will have outdoor seating once on-site dining is permitted again. Local delivery is also available for a fee on all orders above $50 placed via direct message on Instagram.
