Tijuana’s Newest Food Hall Highlights Regional Restaurant Standouts

A new food hall concept is gathering many of Tijuana’s most high-profile eateries into one border-adjacent venue. The Park, located inside the NewCity Medical Plaza, brings together concepts by local culinary stars including Ruffo Ibarra of Oryx and Georgina Restaurante’s Adria Marina alongside street eats standouts such as Tortas Wash Mobile.

As shared by The Park manager Jose Abadi, Tijuana has experienced a rising status as a world food destination with a breadth of high-end options and a rich street food culture. “These really are the best chefs and restaurants from this region under one roof, you get a sampling of the flavors Baja is showcasing,” said Abadi.

The Park’s full lineup includes a compact version of Ruffo Ibarra’s Oryx, Adria Marina’s new Tijuana-Chinese concept China Brava, tacos by Taqualli, Mexican sorbet by Tepoznieves, vegan eats from Alma Verde and Vexican, mariscos by LionFish Oyster Bar, Baja-style sushi by La Carena, and burgers by Republica Angus. Abadi shared that San Diego-based eatery Farmer’s Table will arrive at the food hall by February 2021.

One on-site bar is dedicated to cocktails while another wine bar, curated by sommelier Marco Amador of Valle de Guadalupe giant L.A. Cetto, will focus on vintages from Baja’s wine country and other Mexican regions.

The Park is designed to be a focal point of the NewCity Medical Plaza, a one-stop shop for medical tourism both domestic and from the United States. The largest economic driver in Baja California for years, medical tourism tops traditional travel tourism and related activities, which count as Baja’s second most profitable economic sector. The Tijuana complex spans a hotel, hospital, medical specialist practices, and retail spaces.

The Park is located at 9580 Paseo del Centenario, in Tijuana’s Zona Rio district.
