Seaport Village gets even more local with the upcoming debut of Spill the Beans, set to open on Tuesday, December 1 inside the landmark’s lighthouse structure. The daytime eatery, which launched in the Gaslamp in 2017, is owned by The Verant Group (barleymash, Maverick’s Beach Club).

The new Seaport Village outpost will focus primarily on counter service, with a few outdoor tables for seating. Its menu is based around housemade “California-style” bagels, available in non-traditional varieties like habanero and jack cheese or bacon and white cheddar, served with cream cheese flavored with everything from garlic and red chili to wasabi, ginger, and soy. Other food offerings include customizable breakfast sandwiches, protein bowls, and oatmeal.

Partnering exclusively with local Dark Horse Coffee Roasters for all of its coffee and espresso drinks, ranging from classic drip coffee to cold brew and specialty beverages, the cafe also serves tea and kombucha.

Owner Dave Jones, who says they’re looking forward to being part of Seaport Village’s future as the tourist destinations continues to modernize and turn more local, tells Eater that the group doesn’t have any other active expansion plans for the Spill the Beans brand.
