Opened last summer in the East Village, RoVino The Foodery was an extension of acclaimed Little Italy eatery RoVino Restaurant + Wine. Founders Tom Tarantino, Antonia Buono and Vincenzo Bruno took over the 4,800-square-foot space with the aim of bringing a slice of Italian culture to downtown residents. In addition to an on-site restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, the market offers gourmet Italian products and a large array of to-go food, from pizza to sandwiches and salads.

Starting Friday, October 30, RoVino The Foodery is entering a new collaboration with Pappalecco, which will run the food emporium’s existing coffee and gelato bar. With locations in Little Italy, Hillcrest, and Kensington, the long-standing Italian cafe will be featuring its popular menu of coffee and espresso drinks, fresh pastries and desserts as well as new breakfast dishes and of course, its beloved homemade gelato. The permanent partnership will allow Pappalecco to expand its presence to the East Village. Said Tarantino, “We wanted to use our platform and space to help other Italian businesses succeed during this time of COVID.”

The market will also introduce new operating hours, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, on October 20.
