A longtime favorite for Colombian cuisine in Logan Heights is moving to a new location. Antojitos Colombianos will uproot from its original kitchen to a space recently furnished to house a restaurant at 2040 Imperial Avenue, closer to downtown San Diego.
As shared by proprietor Javier Rodriguez, the move comes after a new lease on its home for the last decade, at 2851 Imperial Avenue, could not be reached due to a high price demanded by its landlord. The restaurant will keep operating at this address until February 6, and will reopen at its new 1,000-square-foot home in mid-February. Rodriguez also shared that the restaurant will return with a virtually unchanged menu, but with few possible adjustments.
In business since 2010, this restaurant has specialized in Colombian and Latin American cuisine. Famous for its savory Colombian-style empanadas, made from corn flour and deep fried, and the traditional bandeja paisa platter, which includes beef steak, pork belly, rice, beans, and a fried egg, it is one of two Colombian restaurants within the City of San Diego’s limits. The eatery also has a retail section dedicated which stocks coffee, sweets, artisan crafts, and more items from this South American nation.
