A bonafide hit in Los Angeles, where it got its start as a street food stand in East Hollywood which has since grown into four locations and counting in the LA area, Dave’s Hot Chicken will soon introduce its mega-popular, Nashville-style chicken tenders and fries to San Diego.

The chain tells Eater that its first out-of-town outpost will hit Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach this spring. Though the location for its second San Diego branch has yet to be determined, it is projected to debut by the end of 2020. Local operators Andrew Feghali and Lawrence Kourie, who have experience running multiple units of convenience stores and quick-service eateries such as AM/PM, Circle-K, and Little Caesars Pizza, have an agreement with Dave’s Hot Chicken to open a total of 12 locations in San Diego County.

Dave’s streamlined menu is based on fried chicken tenders and sliders, available at heat levels that range from ‘no spice’ to ‘reaper’, as well as sides like mac & cheese, kale slaw, and curly fries.
