When it opened last fall in Old Town, Tahona brought a welcome dose of style and substance to the popular tourist area with a modern Mexican menu and a serious devotion to mezcal, showcasing the spirits through a dedicated tasting room and via its craft cocktails.

Next month, Tahona will take its cocktail program to the next level with the reveal of Oculto 477, a new speakeasy hidden within the space. Accessed from the bar area through a secret entrance, it will hold seats for just 25 guests. The intimate room will be lit with 477 lights, paying respect to the number of grave sites still visible in the historic Campo Santo Cemetery, located adjacent to the restaurant.

Currently scheduled to open after Mezcal Week, which will be marked at Tahona through daily specials and events running from Tuesday, September 10 to Sunday, September 15, the speakeasy will have an elevated and highly-technical cocktail menu from beverage directors Blair Marano and Carlo Bracci Devoti.
