A dessert cafe making its debut this Monday, July 1 in Mira Mesa will serve freshly-made churros in “designer” flavor combinations ranging from Chocolate Oreo and White Chocolate Coconut to Raspberry Cream Cheese Graham. 3Ten Churro Bar will also offer optional dips and drizzles, including Nutella and dulce de leche, as well as bite-sized churros.
The new shop shares a wall with Broken Yolk Café in the Mira Mesa West Shopping Center and was developed by Barry Tu, McKenzie Cox, and Randy Corrigan, who operate several Broken Yolk locations around Southern California and Las Vegas. Corrigan said, “We had an idea of making the best churro and I think we’ve done that. Hopefully San Diego thinks the same!” Brett Feurstein of Mesa Centers agrees, sharing “The amount of work that has been put into perfecting these churros is amazing.”
The churros will also be paired with ice cream and toppings for over-the-top sundaes like Unicorn Oops with cotton candy ice cream, purple chocolate drizzle, and colorful chocolate pieces, the Campfire with vanilla ice cream, chocolate flakes, mini marshmallows, and graham cracker, and the Fortune Cookie with matcha ice cream, mochi, fortune cookie, and strawberry Pocky. Drinks will range from Vietnamese coffee and hot chocolate to matcha and ube lattes and horchata milkshakes.
Corrigan told Eater that the team is planning to open more 3Ten Churro Bar locations in Little Italy and Orange County.
