Danish Coffee/Juice Bar Chain Makes Landing at One Paseo

Joe & The Juice opens its second area location

After making its San Diego debut at Westfield UTC earlier this year, Copenhagen-born coffee and juice bar Joe & The Juice has just opened at new Carmel Valley complex One Paseo. Founded in 2002, the chain now has over 200 locations worldwide, and is known for its urban vibe, Scandinavian-inspired interiors, and staffers who are encouraged to play their own music.

The Danish import serves coffee brewed from organic Honduras-sourced beans, plus tea and cold pressed juices, from the Hell of a Nerve with strawberry, banana, and elderflower to the Herb Tonic with turmeric, ginger, pineapple, red bell pepper, black pepper, and apple. The One Paseo store is the first in Southern California to offer the company’s full food menu, which includes omelets, scrambled eggs and avocado on rye bread, and coconut yogurt with granola as well as flatbread sandwiches.

A rep for the company says that while there are no other San Diego locations currently in the pipeline, there’s good likelihood that they will continue with additional stores in the area.
