Los Angeles-based Mendocino Farms is doubling down on San Diego; the fast-casual sandwich and salad spot, which has locations at The Shops at La Jolla Village and Del Mar Highlands Town Center, is gearing up to join the mix at The Square at Bressi Ranch in Carlsbad. Scheduled to open Thursday, June 6, it will feature a chalkboard corner for kids and outdoor games like corn hole and foosball.

The popular all-day eatery is also heading downtown to the new Tower 180° complex at the corner of First Avenue and Broadway, across from the Spreckles Theater. Anchoring the ground floor of the 25-story office building, Mendocino Farms’ 2,561-square-foot space is currently slated to open in February 2020; Robert Ury of RKF represented the tenant.

Arriving earlier at Tower 180° is the second local outpost of Blue Bottle Coffee, whose lobby-adjacent cafe could open as soon as this summer. Alex Drecksel of Flocke & Avoyer’s Urban Strategies Group tells Eater there will be a large elevated patio to service all eateries; another 745-square foot retail space is still available.
