Mission Hills’ Farmer’s Bottega, which opened in 2014, will be launching a related restaurant called Two Bleu Ducks in North Park. Owner Djani Ivanov, who also runs The Hopping Pig gastropub in the Gaslamp, is behind the new 3,800-square-foot eatery at the corner of University Avenue and Utah Street along with partner German Feuchter.

Currently scheduled to open by early May, the plant-filled space will include an outdoor patio. Feuchter told Eater that the menu will have some overlap with Farmer’s Bottega but will focus more trendy, updated presentations that will include lots of vegan options. Similar to the Mission Hills eatery, Two Bleu Ducks will be open all day starting at 7 a.m. for the full range of coffee drinks, fresh juices, housemade pastries, and breakfast plates like omelets and French toast. In the evenings, the venue will be a beer and wine bar, offering light snacks and finger foods.
