Following last month’s debut at One Paseo, Shake Shack has announced that its fourth San Diego location in Little Italy is scheduled to open this Sunday, April 28 at 11 a.m. While its other area outposts are in a mall or mixed-use setting, the India Street eatery is its first stand-alone site. Occupying 2,680-square-feet at the corner of W. Grape Street, it features a large dog-friendly patio and its own parking lot.
The ever-expanding burger giant, which now has over 220 locations around the globe, will be donating five percent of proceeds from its Pie Oh My concrete (vanilla frozen custard with a slice of Four & Twenty seasonal pie) to local environmental organization I Love A Clean San Diego. The Little Italy outpost will also serve the SoCal-exclusive Roadside Double, a double Swiss cheeseburger topped with Dijon mustard and onions simmered with bacon and beer.
To gear up for Sunday’s opening, Shake Shack has partnered with Little Italy restaurant Juniper & Ivy and its executive chef Anthony Wells, who created a special “ShackMeister” burger that will be available at Juniper & Ivy today through Sunday. Sandwiched in a house-fermented potato roll, it features two patties made from a mix of Flannery Beef hanger, short rib, and chuck topped with beer-infused raclette cheese, shallots, and his take on traditional “Shack Sauce”.
