Silicon Valley standout Barefoot Coffee Roasters is coming to Solana Beach’s Cedros Design district where its 1,300-square-foot cafe with 540-square-foot patio that will be part of the newly-remodeled Cedros Collective mixed-use complex. Due in early summer, it will be the company’s second cafe location and the first in Southern California. Co-owner Jon Dolin cites our city’s appreciation for elevated coffee, which equals our love of craft beer, as a major reason for Barefoot’s expansion; co-owner Jillian Dolin is also a native San Diegan. In addition to specialty coffee and organic tea, the cafe will offer beer, wine, and a light food menu.

Launched in 2003 as a roastery and cafe in Santa Clara, Barefoot has been named a top boutique roaster by Food & Wine Magazine. Dedicated to direct trade sourcing and roasting in small batches, the company also runs a cafe in Campbell, CA and wholesales its coffee to large tech companies, restaurants, specialty markets, museums and universities.

Jon Dolin tells Eater that they are actively searching for more locations in San Diego; Mike Spilky from Location Matters represented Barefoot in the Solana Beach deal.
