An eatery billing itself as the “greatest neighborhood restaurant” is headed to Coronado’s main thoroughfare of Orange Avenue this summer. While its locations in Phoenix, Dallas and West Hollywood are massive, The Henry in Coronado will have a slightly smaller footprint; it replaces Costa Azul and rings in at still-spacious 5,176-square-feet with a 1,445-square-foot patio with outdoor fireplace.

Owner Sam Fox is a Coronado resident, splitting his time between the island and Arizona where he launched Fox Restaurant Concepts, a dynasty that now includes over 50 eateries and a variety of brands. Fox, an 11-time James Beard Award semifinalist for Outstanding Restaurateur, is the founder of True Food Kitchen and opened Flower Child to Del Mar and North Italia and Blanco Tacos + Tequila in Fashion Valley.

The Henry is a multi-functioning restaurant, cafe, bar, and lounge serving coffee, cocktails, and everything in-between. The new American grill offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch and a something-for-everyone menu that includes gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options as well as a roasted half-chicken, seared scallops, and a beef filet with red wine reduction. The Coronado location will feature an exhibition kitchen and a private dining room.
