The newest Shake Shack location officially open this Monday, March 18 at 11 a.m. at One Paseo; it’s among the initial wave of tenants to debut at the mixed-use development in Carmel Valley, where it will be joined by Tender Greens, Salt & Straw Ice Cream, and a slew of other local and national eateries.
Founded in New York City in 2004, the empire built upon burgers now includes over 200 locations worldwide. Shake Shack landed in San Diego in 2017, and operates outposts in Westfield UTC and Mission Valley; another branch will open on India Street in Little Italy later this year.
The menu is based on 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches, griddled flat-top dogs, crispy crinkle cut fries, and various flavors of frozen custard; the One Paseo store will be donating five percent of sales from its Pie Oh My concrete (vanilla frozen custard with a slice of Four & Twenty seasonal pie) to local environmental organization I Love A Clean San Diego. For Monday’s opening, the first 100 people in line will also get a free custom San Diego Richer Poorer T-shirt.
