Fresh from the launch of its fifth location in The Beacon shopping center in La Costa, Lofty Coffee is continuing its North County expansion with a new cafe that will be coming to Carlsbad Village. It will be part of an upcoming project that will convert the longstanding Antique Mall buildings on State Street into a 23,000-square-foot retail and office complex.

Dubbed State Street Commons, it’s being developed by HP Investors and FABRIC, which also built Lofty Coffee’s bakery and cafe space in Little Italy.

The Carlsbad location is due in late 2020; its footprint inside State Street Commons will span an 850-square-foot interior with a 28-foot ceiling and a 650-square-foot private patio. Lofty Coffee founder Eric Myers told Eater that they are also planning on sidewalk seating. It will serve Lofty’s full kitchen menu with a rotating selection of fresh roasted coffee and just-baked pastries delivered daily from its main roastery in Encinitas.
