Ever wanted to dine inside your own personal terrarium? A pop-up that got its start in Canada will make its first U.S. stop in San Diego early next year before heading to Chicago and Washington; billed as a “luxury dining experience in a highly unexpected setting”, Dinner With A View moves into Liberty Station’s Central Promenade on February 6, 2020 and will run through March 8, 2020. The outdoor space will be set up with 33 individual clear geodesic domes kitted out with lights, textiles, and plants (tailor-made for Instagram feeds) that “get their inspiration from different regions of the earth and are transformed into terrariums with distinct terrains”.

Offering three daily seatings at 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 9:30 p.m., reservations will be available online starting this Friday, December 6, 2019 at 10 a.m. The chef for the San Diego session has yet to be announced (the Canadian pop-ups featured winners from ‘Top Chef Canada’), but he or she will be preparing a three-course blind menu using local ingredients that feature meat, fish, and vegan options with drink pairings available at an additional cost. There is a $199.99 fee for reserving the dome, which requires a minimum of four guests and can accommodate up to six guests, and the three-course dinner is priced at $109.99 per person.
