Local hospitality heavy-hitters Cohn Restaurant Group (Coasterra, Tacos Libertad, The Prado) officially open doors to its all-in-one experiential dining destination, Pacific Social, today. The 5,100-square-foot restaurant in the Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch center, which replaces Westroot Tavern, features an arcade, a dog-friendly patio with games and a sports-centric bar, and is intended to become a vibrant social hub for the surrounding community.
A brand-new chef team is behind the eatery’s New American menu of classic comfort foods like chicken pot pie, fish and chips, and Southern-style grits, bacon and braised collard greens with shaved apple. Shared plates, including BO-beau’s famed Brussels sprouts, internationally-inspired dishes, plus several vegetarian and vegan options, also feature.
On the drinks side, there’s an extensive wine list and 32 taps with rotating draft beers and a cocktail program that ranges from signatures and spritzes to frozen cocktails and mocktails. In addition to ‘Frosé all day,’ highlights include the Japanese Smash made with Toki Japanese whiskey and the Socialite with sparkling rosé, lemon, and seasonal berry liqueur.
Open daily for lunch and dinner; brunch will be served every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with dishes running the gamut from a California “breakfast burrito” omelet with carne asada and French fries, to vegetarian breakfast tacos with black beans, sweet potato, and oyster mushrooms.
And, just in time for the holidays, Pacific Social’s pie program offers six-inch dessert pies baked fresh on-site daily, which are available to eat-in for dessert or grab-and-go. Serving one to two people, flavors include spiced apple, key lime, s’mores and chocolate pecan dulce de leche.
