Burger boss In-N-Out, which relocated and reopened its El Cajon location in East County this past June, will be building out a brand new eatery and drive-thru on Friars Road in the Grantville neighborhood. It will be a part of the Riverdale Shopping Center, which is anchored by CVS and Armstrong Garden Center and home to restaurants that include Sushi Bar Kazumi and Himalayan Curry and Grill.
Headquartered in Irvine, with more than 300 locations throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Texas, In-N-Out is replacing the four-decades-old Black Angus Steakhouse; according to report from NBC San Diego, the site will be shared with a drive-thru Starbucks Coffee.
However, San Diegans will have to wait a while for more Double-Doubles, which were beloved by the late, great Anthony Bourdain. Black Angus is still open for business, and construction on the new In-N-Out isn’t scheduled to be completed until early 2021.
