Spurred by the success of her Point Loma juice bar, which opened five years ago on Rosecrans Street, chef/owner Pamela Olvera is bringing Northside Shack to North Park where the quick-service eatery should debut by mid-November. It will be part of 30th Street’s North Park Square at North Park Way, sharing the complex with Mr. Moto Pizza House and La Creperie.
The North Park shop, which is slightly bigger than the original Point Loma location, will feature some outside seating and extended hours until 7 p.m. Its menu will be built on build-your-own or customized fresh press juice blends and smoothies made with organic produce from local stores, including People’s Market in Ocean Beach. There will also be local kombucha and healthy bowls piled high with fruit and other toppings that are based on organic acai, organic pitaya (dragon fruit), or organic oatmeal. The North Park outpost will also offer a new probiotic bowl with kefir, a yogurt-like drink, plus other grab-and-go food items.
Olvera says she would like to continue to expand the family-run business, telling Eater that she is considering neighborhoods like Oceanside, La Mesa, National City, and Eastlake.
