Daily breakfast is now being served at The Morning After, which opened around the new year at the F Street and Sixth Avenue. The 4,132-square-foot corner space, which combines a bar and lounge area and a separate dining room, last housed Vegas-transplant Off the Strip.
The Gaslamp eatery offers a daytime menu of sweet indulgences, from Fruity Pebbles pancakes topped with mascarpone buttercream to Cinnamon Toast Crunch brioche toast with Grand Marnier icing and a red velvet waffle topped with cream cheese icing and toasted pecans; savory options include bacon-wrapped asparagus with an over-easy egg and balsamic drizzle and shrimp and grits with pancetta herb gravy. French toast, waffle and pancake flights will also be available, as well as flights of brunch drinks ranging from mimosas and margaritas to Bloody Marys.
Open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, the restaurant will operate from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. on weekends, morphing into a sports bar beginning at 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and cooking up a late night menu of bar bites that will include sliders, mac ‘n cheese, loaded french fries, and buffalo wings
