You & Yours Distilling Hosting Farm-to-Bar Cocktail Class

Plus more events featuring cocktails, beer, and sake

Harvest your own cocktail ingredients

On Wednesday, September 5 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., You & Yours Distilling Co. will put on a unique cocktail-making class that will start at the distillery’s East Village tasting room and journey to nearby SMARTS Farm, where participants will be able to learn about urban gardening and pick herbs and garnishes to use in the drinks. The class will then return to You & Yours, where staff will lead a hands-on interactive cocktail demo. Tickets are $55, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting SMARTS Farm’s youth programs.

Outdoor cooking demo in Little Italy

The Little Italy Food Hall continues its Live Cooking Demonstration series with a second edition scheduled for Thursday, September 27 at 6 p.m. Held on the Piazza della Famiglia patio, it’ll be hosted by Not Not Tacos’ Sam the Cooking Guy featuring the food hall’s Single Fin Kitchen team teaching about donburi, or Japanese rice bowls topped with fresh fish and vegetables. You and Yours Distilling Co. will also be on hand for a cocktail demo.

Cocktail-pairing dinner at Prohibition

The Gaslamp Quarter speakeasy’s Supper Club rolls on with a four-course dinner scheduled for Monday, September 17, with each course will be paired with a cocktail featuring Bols Genever created by beverage director Ryan Andrews. The dinner is $85 per person plus gratuity, and reservations can be made online; the event will begin with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and will begin with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

Hop harvest and barbecue in Valley Center

Jordan and Mariah Brownwood, proprietors of Ocean Beach’s Royale Burgers & Cocktails, also own Nopalito Farms in Valley Center. On Sunday, September 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Brownwoods will host a farm cookout to coincide with their seasonal wet hot harvest. Inspired by an Argentinian asado, the event will include wood-fired dishes from Miho Catering featuring the farm’s produce, specialty cocktails from Old Harbor Distilling Co., and specialty beer collaborations as well as live bluegrass music and more. Tickets are $80.

The East Village celebrates World Sake Day

Quartyard is the site of this year’s San Diego Sake Festival sponsored by local eatery Beshock Ramen, held on Saturday, September 29 in honor of Word Sake Day. Starting at 2 p.m. with a traditional cedar sake barrel opening ceremony, the festival will feature more than 20 sake varieties as well as local sake brewers and sommeliers and food samples from Cowboy Star Restaurant & Butcher Shop. Early bird tickets are now available for $35.
