First launched last spring in Carmel Valley at The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch, Wokou Ramen & Yakitori is planning a second location in Pacific Beach where it replaces the recently-shuttered Crown Point branch of Promiscuous Fork. The 2800-square-foot space, located at the corner of Ingraham Street and La Playa Avenue, is scheduled to reopen in October after a redesign, and will feature both indoor and outdoor seating as well as custom wall art and metalwork by artist España Garcia.
A street-facing yakitori grill will also be added, to cook up skewers of pork belly, octopus, chicken hearts, skirt steak, and more at a bar that’ll pour beer, wine, and sake. Wokou will carry over its menu from Carmel Valley, which ranges from classic tonkotsu ramen and vegan miso ramen to rice bowls, cold noodles, salads and appetizers including carnitas buns and salt and pepper wings.
