A new $35 million mixed-use development project that broke ground in Poway today will include a food hall stocked with more than 15 food vendors. Called Outpost, the three-building complex is being developed by Capexco Inc. on a 1.58-acre infill at 13247 Poway Road that spans 57,840-square-feet of residential and 40,000-square-feet of commercial space. The food hall will be joined by 53 residential units, a 20,000-square-foot fitness center, and pedestrian plazas with seating areas connecting the buildings in what’s aiming to be a new town center for the area.

The two-story 20,000-square-foot food hall will include a 6,500-square-foot patio on the upper floor. It will feature an array of food and beverage options, including several concepts from 3 Local Brothers Group. Co-founded by Grant Tondro, a Poway native, the group counts several Urge Gastropubs, as well as The Barrel Room in Rancho Bernardo, Brothers Provisions, Mason Ale Works, and Mason Coffee Works among its holdings
