The new One Paseo heading to Del Mar Heights announced a new restaurant and bakery coming.
First up, URBN Pizza, a spin-off of BASIC Bar/Pizza from Jon Mangini out of the East Village. The menu features the New Haven, Connecticut-style, coal-fired pizzas found at URBN locations in Encinitas, Vista, North Park, and El Cajon. Diners can build their own pies for $10 to $16.
Also on the horizon, SusieCakes with a roster of nostalgic desserts. Specialties here include frosted layer cakes in Southern red velvet, six-layer chocolate, and tropical coconut, along with seasonal fruit pies, cookies, bars, and more. Snickerdoodles, brownies, seven-layer bars, and whoopie pies make the menu alongside the bakery’s most iconic dessert, the vanilla celebration cake.
Other future tenants announced include International Smoke, a restaurant partnership between celebrity chefs Ayesha Curry and Michael Mina, along with seafood spot Ways & Means Oyster House and Los Angeles transplants Tocaya Organica and Sweetfin Poke. La Jolla eatery Parakeet Café subsequently joined the mix in addition to two big names from the culinary world — burger star Shake Shack and leading fast-casual eatery Tender Greens. Orange County favorite The Butchery, Copenhagen-born Joe & The Juice with its Nordic spin on the juice bar/coffee shop combo, North Italia from Fox Restaurant Concepts (True Food Kitchen, Flower Child), and Washington, DC-based Cava Grill, and Salt & Straw, a family-run, ice cream shop.
