Three years after first announcing its expansion into San Diego, STK has finally launched an outpost of its luxe, lounge-y steakhouse in the Gaslamp’s Andaz Hotel. Created by NYC-based The ONE Group, STK has nearly 20 locations worldwide including Las Vegas, London, and LA, with new branches coming soon to Mexico City and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The 8,636-square-foot space at the corner of F Street and Sixth Avenue will debut a wrap-around patio this weekend. It seats 220 inside, across a bar and main dining area, mezzanine lounge, courtyard, and two private rooms. Known for a party atmosphere, powered by DJs spinning Tuesday through Saturday, the STK experience also distinguishes itself with its uber-customizable menu.

There are 10 cuts of steak to choose from — the most popular is the 14-ounce, 45-day dry aged Delmonico — plus 11 toppings ranging from king crab to bone marrow and 8 sauces and crusts including chimichurri and béarnaise. There are other entrees, including a daily market fish, as well as seafood platters, salads, and steakhouse starters. Local chef David Burke, who spent 12 years with Fleming’s Steakhouse and also cooked at Pacifica Del Mar, is overseeing the kitchen.
