More than a year ago, Gravity Heights Brewery & Beer Garden announced plans to debut in Sorrento Valley, and the owners were always prepared for a long journey to opening day. Now the under-construction, 12,000-square-foot craft beer mecca confidently plans to begin pouring by the end of the year.
The two-level, custom-designed Sorrento Valley space has now topped out its 7,000-square-foot structure at the corner of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Pacific Heights Boulevard with an additional 5,000 square feet dedicated to garden dining and drinking. The beer hall with room for 400 guests also features private dining on a mezzanine overlooking the brewery that can also accommodate another 40 diners.
Already the brewery isy hiring for select positions. Whisknladle Hospitality of Catania, Whisknladle in La Jolla and the forthcoming Park Commons food hall will design the menu, while brewmaster Skip Virgilio oversees the preparation for the 2,000BBL facilty, which they hope will lead to wider distribution and become a creative laboratory for future brews.
