The San Diego-based episode of ‘The Zimmern List’ airs tonight, April 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the Travel Channel. The show, hosted by four-time James Beard Award-winning TV personality, chef, writer and teacher Andrew Zimmern of Bizarre Foods fame, came to town last summer to film footage for the series; Eater spotted the crew at Menya Ultra Ramen, Catalina Offshore, and the Tuna Harbor Dockside Market.
‘The Zimmern List’ premiered in March and features Zimmern “sharing his personal recommendations on the food and places where he most loves to eat”; previous aired episodes have highlighted Los Angeles, Austin, and San Francisco.
Look for a number of local restaurants to be showcased in tonight’s episode, starting with Ironside Fish & Oyster in Little Italy. From there, Zimmern explores Salud and Por Vida in Barrio Logan, spends time with buddy Richard Blais of The Crack Shack and Juniper & Ivy, and makes a visit to Convoy’s Pokirrito.
