Urban Remedy, known for its organic and healthy ready-to-eat meals, snacks, and cold pressed juices, has chosen San Diego as its first new market outside of the Bay Area and will open a storefront in Solana Beach next month. Founded in 2009 by Neka Pasquale, a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist who has a background in traditional Chinese medicine, Urban Remedy launched its first brick-and-mortar in San Rafael in 2013 and now runs over 10 freestanding locations in Northern California in addition to operating kiosks inside Whole Foods Markets throughout the Bay Area and Southern California.
Offering a clean eating-based menu of salads, wraps, bowls, desserts, and more, Urban Remedy is also known for its meal delivery service, named by goop as one of the best healthy options, that includes a cleanse inspired by model Cindy Crawford. The new retail location is scheduled to launch in May with one hundred percent of grand opening day sales going to the EUSD Farm Lab, the Encinitas Union School District’s indoor and outdoor educational campus for learning about nutrition and the environment. Urban Remedy is also partnering with Jimbo’s...Naturally! to open kiosks within its local markets in Carlsbad, Del Mar Highlands and 4S Ranch that will launch on May 1 along with kiosks in the Whole Foods Market locations in La Jolla and Del Mar.
