With room for more than 700 partygoers, Mavericks Beach Club provides Pacific Beach with a sprawling new hub for daytime hangouts and evening shenanigans. Named after California’s largest surf break, the just-opened eatery and entertainment venue spans 15,000 square feet. It replaces Garnet Avenue stalwart Pacific Beach Bar and Grill, which shuttered two years ago.

A whopping five bars are spread across the newly renovated two-story building and giant dog-friendly patio that make up the space, with everything from communal seating to cozier spots by the fireplace. Designed to reflect coastal culture, Mavericks has a beach/surf theme and a menu of casual bites that range from tacos, tortas, and burritos to burgers and sandwiches. Open Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m., the club will offer happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday.

The entertainment options are pretty endless; 38 TVs dot the property, along with outdoor games. Mavericks also has a dance floor, and plans to regularly program everything from late night DJs to concerts from national touring bands.
