As North Park’s One Door North approaches its second anniversary, the 30th Street restaurant has finally secured a coveted full liquor license. Run by The Piehl Restaurant Group — owner and executive chef Fred Piehl also operates The Smoking Goat next door — the seasonal neighborhood eatery just extended its hours to midnight and is serving an interim cocktail list before unveiling its full cocktail program at the end of February.
Created by bar manager Elizabeth Farrell, who’s also behind the bar at Madison on Park and worked at San Francisco cocktail spots Bond Bar and Wish before moving to San Diego, the West Coast-inspired craft cocktail menu will revolve around aperitifs and blossom-infused elixirs. Farrell is an accredited herbalist and garden designer, and will use her botanic knowledge to infuse native wild florals and herbs into fresh, housemade syrups, bitters and cordials. The light, floral drinks on the list will also have more direct counterparts based on dark spirits, including small batch whiskeys, bourbons, and local rums.
