New North County complex One Paseo isn’t even open yet but it’s already shaping up to be one of the most culinarily-stacked spaces in town. Last month, it was announced that San Francisco’s celebrity chef-backed International Smoke would expand into the Kilroy Realty Corporation’s mixed-use development in Carmel Valley along with Tocaya Organica, Sweetfin Poke and Way & Means Oyster House. Now comes news that two big-name eateries that both involve leadership from famed chef/restaurateur Danny Meyer will also be in the mix when the retail section launches in Spring 2019.
Joining existing locations in Westfield UTC and Mission Valley along with the recently-announced Little Italy outpost is burger superstar Shake Shack. The Carmel Valley store will feature a mural from a local artists as well as an outdoor patio and games. And Tender Greens, the seasonal chef-led casual eatery, will be adding a North County branch to its eateries in downtown San Diego, Liberty Station, Westfield UTC and Mission Valley. Local Parakeet Café, which has a spot in downtown La Jolla that serves organic eats and coffee drinks, will also expand to One Paseo.
