The Bungalow, a beach-styled bar and lounge with locations in Santa Monica and Huntington Beach, is expanding to Long Beach and even farther south to San Diego. Founded by famed Los Angeles nightlife guru and event producer Brent Bolthouse, the popular party spot is known for its see-and-be-seen atmosphere and sprawling expanse of indoor and outdoor seating, plus fire pits, game rooms, and more.

Breaking ground in Summer 2019, The Bungalow La Jolla will be part of Westfield UTC’s ongoing evolution. Touching down with a whopping 10,000-square-feet with over 5,000-square-feet of outdoor space, it will be housed in a free-standing building and is expected to open by Spring 2020.

For the two just-announced locations, Bolthouse and his The Bungalow Hospitality Group is partnering up with highly-decorated restaurateur and chef Michael Mina of the MINA Group, which runs more than 40 restaurant around the country. Named Bon Appétit and San Francisco Magazine ‘s Chef of the Year, Mina will create a menu of small bites and large shared plates for The Bungalow. This will be his second project in San Diego; Mina’s global barbecue concept, International Smoke, is coming to One Paseo in North County.
