Convoy will get even cooler starting next month, with the reveal of the Realm of the 52 Remedies currently scheduled for early December. The high-concept speakeasy, created by the co-founders of Common Theory Public House, brings an immersive cocktail experience to a neighborhood known for its top-tier Asian food. The bar will reflect Asian flavors and ingredients in its menu, with drinks including the Aja made with French rum, Himalayan salt, fresh ginger, wasabi, almond, lime served alongside interpretations of classic cocktails from all over the globe. Small bites will also be offered.
Like a true speakeasy, Realm of the 52 Remedies will have a hidden entrance. Accessed through Common Theory, it’ll be themed as a sleek and futuristic apothecary with glass-jarred tonics and elixirs on display. The lobby area will function as a portal of sorts, taking guests back in time to a main bar imagined in 1920s style and designed with elements that incorporate the Chinese and Korean heritage of co-owners Cris Liang and Joon Lee.
Conceived by Michael Soriano of Onairos Design (Queenstown, Malahat Spirits Co., Vin de Syrah), the bar will include cloud sculptures hung from the ceiling and a green jade bar with a mountainscape as its backdrop. The intimate space will include private booths for groups, including one shaped like a giant lotus flower.
